A Grenfell Tower Hero, his Bride and the Cake dreams were made of.

Today is Lynsey and Alans 1st Wedding anniversary.
On the 25th May last year, I had the honour of photographing Lynsey and Alans beautiful day at the Historical Tudor Barn in Eltham.
Why was it such an honour?
June 17th 2017, the Grenfell tower was ablaze and Alan and his Red Watch were on the night shift, he was one of the 40 crews that fought the blaze and entered to building to save as many people that were trapped and injured. He spent six hours inside the smoke filled building doing what he could to find any casualties.
A cake maker from Oxford heard of this heroic act and offered to make a cake for any fire fighter who getting married, Alan and Lynsey were the recipients of the amazing cake.
Annie Relph of Scattercake took elements of Lynsey's dress and incorporated their wedding colours too. She even drove all the way from Oxfordhire to deliver the cake.
Lynsey wore an Allure Bridals dress that she bought from With love Bridal on Sidcup Road. Lynsey said "Jan in there was amazing understanding what I wanted and adding lace to the shoulders"
A young lady called Grace Kelly did Lynseys amazing make-up (apparently no relation to the famous late actress!)
One of Alans friends provided the flowers and Lynsey worked with Angela a freelance florist too.
The day was a lovely warm summery day, Lynsey arrived in white Taxi, in keeping with a London Wedding.
Alans' Red Watch colleagues were also in attendance in full uniform and formed a guard of honour for the happy couple after the ceremony.
